Hadestown

A beautiful show with genuinely spine-chilling scenes.

The swinging light scene was so well choreographed, and the vocal harmonization was beautiful.

Lighting was the real standout talent in this production. The bright train lights flash right into the audience. The hanging lights swing in perfect synchronized fashion. It's all woven in so well that the lighting blends seamlessly into the set and the plot rather than sitting on top of it.

"Why We Build the Wall" had amazing harmonization. There's a huge contrast between the low voice of Hades and the higher voices of the cast. The lows weren't quite Patrick Page level, but then again, who really is? Our Hades held the role very well.

"Wait for Me (Reprise)" was simple yet powerful. The concept is basic, just a rotating stage, but the movement and choreography combined with the harmony builds into something genuinely powerful.

I did find Orpheus had a little difficulty reaching some high notes. It didn't sound bad, just slightly strained in a few spots.
